Darji’s first step towards becoming a solo artist began with a single unbroken line. Created in his spare time while working for The Taj Magazine, these drawings revealed the discipline, movement and storytelling that would later define his Indian period.

Inspired by his travels through Rajasthan, Darji transformed desert life, music, movement and fashion into vast black-and-white compositions. His first solo exhibition, Living Line, sold out and led to the celebrated A Touch of Class series.

After moving to England, Darji began reconnecting with his Indian roots while absorbing Western influences. His Fusion works brought together Indian and European fashion, music, dance, colour and mixed media in a new creative language.

Doves appear throughout Darji’s work as symbols of freedom, peace and spiritual presence. Rooted in childhood memories of birds and later shaped by his faith, they bring rhythm, movement and life into his compositions.

Darji was drawn to horses for their elegance, strength and motion. From early black-and-white Indian works to later colour paintings, horses became one of his most enduring symbols of energy and grace.
